Cook book.

Each student was required to design a Cook book cover and add three recipes in the book. Each student had to come up with a concept that will guide you, you cook book design and the kind of food you will be having in your cook book. My concept was to focus more on the South African, especially zulu traditional foods that they ate in the olden days and that we still do eat nowadays at home. The aim of this traditional concept is to educate young woman of all races about the culture and food and also encourage them to cook such things.

Harper's Bazaar

Groups of 7 were made in this project for the History of Graphic design. Each group had to chose from the given topics, we chose to research more about the Harpers bazaar magazine and fashion in the 1960's and 70's. This wasn't just an interesting project that we loved posing for but it also helped us improve our photoshop skills because each individual in a cover of each magazine issue was required to retouch and smooth their own photos.

Photography

This photography project was about teaching us more about how the camera is used, the camera angles and the different kinds of lightings according to the photo or concept you busy with. For this project each student was required to chose a song, and do a photo shoot on a concept you chose from the song. The student could either chose a section in the song, he whole song, a chorus or maybe just two lines of the song. I chose an old song by Jabu Khanyile Mma lo wwe. "Mma lo wwe" is an African exclamation that is normally used when a person is shocked. I read the whole lyrics and analyzed them briefly. The song is about a beautiful African lady, the way she looks and acts. My model had to beautiful, african and fully figured. The type that I have on both my photos elaborates the importance and effectiveness of the women's beauty.

Design Indaba

This is a design Indaba double page spread that each student designed for themselves. We had to sort of advertise ourselves as Graphic designers, tell people through design the kind of person you are and how Graphic design has made you the person you are today. We had to represent ourselves not only as Graphic students but also as a brand and also give people a clear understanding of how Graphic Design influences your style entirely. In my understanding, Graphic design is more about self exploration and knowing how to put what ever might be in your mind on paper in a form of a design. I see my style very distinctive and it gives me the power to think big and design from my heart.
